Fellowship
At
Geneva, we feel it's important to take the time to enjoy each other and
the many blessings God has given us. Spending time together — laughing,
singing, talking, eating! — as a congregation, community,
and in smaller settings, allows us to form and strengthen the friendships
which
can sustain us through the best and worst of times.
All-church activities and smaller fellowship groups within the
church are listed below.
Members, guests and friends are invited to join in the fun. Let's
get to know one another, grow in our faith, celebrate our love of Christ,
and spread the good news together!
All-Church
Events
Bring your appetites, because when Genevans get together there's usually
food involved! Spaghetti dinners and pancake breakfasts are our specialty,
and we host them
frequently throughout the year. Additionally, the following annual events
have become tradition.
• Advent
Celebration
The Sunday before Thanksgiving, adults and children gather
for an evening of making holiday crafts and decorating
the sanctuary and chapel for the Christmas season. Dinner is provided.
The highlight of the evening is carol singing in the sanctuary and singing “Silent
Night” under the stars in the courtyard.
• Easter
Egg Hunt and Barbecue
Each Palm Sunday kids of all ages delight in the
annual egg hunt in the courtyard,
followed by an old-fashioned barbecue.
Fellowship
Groups

• Presbyterian
Women (P.W.)
Women of all ages meet at 11:30 am for a Gathering at the church on the third Wednesday of the month to share lunch and a program. Presbyterian Women support the missions of Geneva, the Presbytery, the Synod and the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) in 80 countries worldwide. For information about meetings contact Mariam Corbett, P.W. Moderator, at 829-0249 or mariamc@comline.com.
Presbyterian Women is made up of smaller "circles" of women, who meet monthly for Bible study, fellowship and mission projects. The circles are scheduled on various days of the week, some daytime, some evening, some in
homes and some at the church to best meet the needs and schedules of our members.
In addition there are Bible study groups that meet in a home on Friday mornings at 9:30 AM or Tuesday evenings at 7:30 PM for in-depth Bible study. For placement in a circle or Bible study contact Kathleen Hagan Schenck, P.W. Network and Circle Coordinator, at (949) 859-2089 or khagan_home@yahoo.com .
Two special women's teas are scheduled on Saturdays this year to encourage participation of women who are unable to attend our regular Wednesday daytime Gatherings. The Christmas Tea will be held December 4, 2010 and the Spring Tea on April 16, 2011. All women are invited to volunteer, participate and attend.
