Fellowship
At
Geneva, we feel it's important to take the time to enjoy each other and
the many blessings God has given us. Spending time together — laughing,
singing, talking, eating! — as a congregation, community,
and in smaller settings, allows us to form and strengthen the friendships
which
can sustain us through the best and worst of times.
All-church activities and smaller fellowship groups within the
church are listed below.
Members, guests and friends are invited to join in the fun. Let's
get to know one another, grow in our faith, celebrate our love of Christ,
and spread the good news together!
All-Church
Events
Bring your appetites, because when Genevans get together there's usually
food involved! Spaghetti dinners and pancake breakfasts are our specialty,
and we host them
frequently throughout the year. Additionally, the following annual events
have become tradition.
• Pumpkin
Carnival •
An old-fashioned fall harvest party complete with games, food
and a costume parade. This October event features old standbys such as
a cake
walk and fishing booth, as well as the new kid favorite “carrot
crunch", where you have to try to pound a moving carrot with a mallet.
Bring your
kids and your appetite!
• Advent
Celebration •
The Sunday before Thanksgiving, adults and children gather
for an evening of making holiday crafts and decorating
the sanctuary and chapel for the Christmas season. Dinner is provided.
The highlight of the evening is carol singing in the sanctuary and singing “Silent
Night” under the stars in the courtyard.
• Easter
Egg Hunt and Barbecue •
Each Palm Sunday kids of all ages delight in the
annual egg hunt in the courtyard,
followed by an old-fashioned barbecue.
• Spring
Choir Concert •
This event is added to many calendars, as it showcases all
Geneva choirs, from
the adult
Chancel Choir to our first and second grade Chorister Choir.
Each musical group performs alone, then all come together for a finale
which
will send
chills down your spine! If you like music, you won't want to
miss this.
Fellowship
Groups
• Caravelle Mariners •
A group of mostly retirees meets at 11:30 AM at the church on the first Friday of the month for a catered luncheon and special program of education, inspiration or entertainment. There are plans to include a missional component in the programs this year. All seniors are encouraged to attend these special fellowship activities. Contact Jeane Day, Skipper, at (949) 454-0504 or jeaneday@comline.com.
• Young Couples Fellowship •
If you’re in your 20s or 30s and want to nurture your marriage, Geneva’s Young Couples’ Fellowship is the place for you!
We meet at Geneva in the Saddleback Room on the 3rd Sundays of most months from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. If you have babies or preschoolers, Geneva’s childcare professionals will take great care of them for $5.00 per child.
Evenings begin with refreshments, followed by a warm-hearted discussion on marriage led by one of Geneva’s pastors or teachers. As the evening gets rolling, we realize how much we have in common, and how thankful we are to be connected with other young married couples. As the night ends, we share the evening’s highlights and lift each other up in prayer.
For more information about the Young Couples’ Fellowship, please contact Young Couples’ coordinator Eva Stark at evastark@hotmail.com.

• MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers) •
MOPS exists to meet the needs of every mom—urban, suburban, stay-at-home and working moms, single and married moms—moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy to kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
MOPS is about celebrating motherhood, meeting needs, making connections and experiencing God's love through relationships and resources. In addition to a special program for moms, MOPS also offers a loving, nurturing program for children.
Geneva MOPS meets every other Monday morning in the Saddleback Room from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
