Theme: The law can be good news too when viewed properly.

September 16 & 17

Sermon Title: “Passing Judgment is a No-No”

Texts: Genesis 50:15-21; Psalm 103:8-13; Romans 14:1-12; and Matthew 18:21-35

Theme: Loving others is the bridge to meeting a diverse population with the gospel.

September 23 & 24

Sermon Title: “God’s Active Love”

Texts: Jonah 3:10-4:11; Psalm 145:1-8; Philippians 1:21-30; and Matthew 20:1-16

Theme: Enthusiasm for life, God, and others generates exponential impact and growth.

September 30 & October 1

Sermon Title: “God Be Present”

Texts: Ezekiel 18:1-4, 25-32; Psalm 25:1-9; Philippians 2:1-13; and Matthew 21:23-32

Theme: Praising God in the storms of life is the appropriate thing to do.

October 7 & 8

Sermon Title: “God Save Us to Flourish”

Texts: Isaiah 5:1-7; Psalm 80:7-15; Philippians 3:4b-14; and Matthew 21:33-46

Theme: We all seek some form of restoration. Cancer, heart disease, depression, broken relationships, career dissatisfaction, and the burden of being a caregiver for and to a loved one are only a few examples.

October 14 & 15

Sermon Title: “God’s Unrelenting Love and Mercy”

Texts: Isaiah 25:1-9; Psalm 23; Philippians 4:1-9; and Matthew 22:1-14

Theme: We are invited to take serious examination of the ways we need Jesus to shepherd us.

October 21 & 22

Sermon Title: “The Gotcha Question”

Texts: Isaiah 45:1-17; Psalm 96:1-9; 1 Thessalonian 1:1-10; and Matthew 22:15-22                                 

Theme: Both the government and God have rightful claims on us.

October 28 & 29

Sermon Title: “To Love is Imperative”

Texts: Leviticus 19:1-2, 15-18; Psalm 34:1-10, 22; 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8; and Matthew 22:34-46

Theme: God Relates to evil, good, the righteous and unrighteous similarly.

November 4 & 5

Sermon Title: “Oppressive and Liberating Spiritualities”

Texts: Micah 3:5-12; Psalm 43; 1 Thessalonians 2:9-13; and Matthew 23:1-12

Theme: God is for humanity not against it.

November 11 & 12

Sermon Title: “God’s Cry”

Texts: Amos 5:18-24; Psalm 70; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; and Matthew 25:1-13

Theme: We are to practice love by doing justice and mercy.

November 18 & 19

Sermon Title: “The Salvation of a Remnant”

Texts: Zephaniah 1:7, 12-18; Psalm 90:1-8, 12; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11; and  Matthew 25:14-30

Theme: We will investigate the meaning of “remnant” and being such as a Christian witness.

November 25 & 26

Sermon Title: “Still Falling Short and That’s Okay”

Texts: Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24; Psalm 95:1-7a; Ephesians 1:15-23; and

Matthew 25:31-46

Theme: Love is caring for the least, the last, the lost, and the excluded of society with compassion.
