Loving the World
Why is it important?
We at Geneva we acknowledge the call of Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations, and to reach out with His love to a hurting world. God has given us the privilege of being his agents in seeking out the lost, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and bringing justice to the oppressed.
In order to fulfill Christ’s vision for us, we are involved in global and local mission efforts. This includes setting aside roughly 10% of our annual budget to support the ministries and partnerships we have with the presbytery at the local and national level, thus supporting overseas missionaries, hospitals, schools, orphanages and countless projects operated at the various levels of our denomination. Our current partners are as follows:
Inspire International partners with national organizations and local churches in India to address the needs of indigenous people groups. Their objective is to uplift the poor and the poor at heart through education, micro-enterprise, access to healthcare and other enrichment opportunities.
Kenyan Orphanages through PCUSA
For over twenty years, Geneva has been involved in creation, and now support, of girl's and boy's homes in Kenya. As well as the basics, such as food and shelter, students who prior to living in these homes were oftentimes orphaned or abandoned, receive emotional and spiritual nurturing. Education is also of utmost importance. Some students are now even going on to high school and beyond.
Regular mission trips to Mexico in partnership with Pastor Devir Perez (read more about Devir at right), allow us the "hands on" experience to serve and and be witnesses for Christ beyond our borders.
Operation Christmas Child/Samaritan's Purse
Each year Genevans pack and ship more than 150 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for children around the world.
