To Our Loving Community
We are profoundly humbled and grateful for the support we've received since the tragic events of last week, but as you may guess our hands are full assisting our faith community and the Orange County Sheriff's Department in navigating this tragedy. For this reason we ask and appreciate news organizations to visit the Orange County Sheriff's Department website at the link below for all the latest news releases and updates.
Also at this time our campus remains closed with
the exception being live worship at 10:30am Sunday mornings.
Thank you for your patience and understanding and continued prayers.
In Christ,
The Congregation and Leadership of
Geneva Presbyterian Church

To our Geneva Church Family, our Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church Family, neighbors, friends and community:
We are all deeply saddened by the fatal shooting that occurred on our campus Sunday, May 15, 2022, at a lunch reception honoring former pastor, The Reverend Billy Chang, of the Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church (ITPC). ITPC is one of our mission partners, a beloved congregation that has shared space with us since 2009.
We will continue to grieve and face this situation together as the Geneva Church family and our surrounding community support the ITPC congregation through this traumatic experience. We will listen and follow their lead as we walk beside them in faith, understanding and healing.
Additionally, as followers of Jesus, we are called to love our enemies, even in the most difficult circumstances. This is the challenge of our faith, but as Christians we must continually search our hearts to try to meet this challenge.
We would like to extend condolences to the family of Dr. John Cheng, M.D., for his incredible bravery and total disregard for his own safety to save others. We extend our profound gratitude for the ITPC church members who showed such courage and selflessness in apprehending the assailant.
As our faith community continues to regroup, rebuild and reflect on recent events we appreciate those walking beside us during this time. We continue to be humbled by the unwavering support of our community.
During this sorrowful time, I remain confident in the resurrection’s victory over death, and remain faithfully yours,
The Rev. Dr. Steven M. Marsh
