Terry Cocking, Caring Elder for Geneva Presbyterian Church,
Shares His Experiences at the April 17-19 Men's Retreat at Forest Home
In mid-April, more than 500 hundred men from about twenty churches throughout Southern California, including 10 men from Geneva Presbyterian Church, attended the annual Men's Retreat at Forest Home. Our guest speakers were pastors from churches in Pasadena and Costa Mesa. The retreat theme was "Gradior Dignus (Walk Worthy)." The speakers encouraged us to walk alongside other men or boys, using our experience, trials, and victories to encourage them in their walk with the Lord, so that we might all grow stronger in God.
Of course, between general sessions and small group discussions, we had some fun time too--miniature golf, ping pong, hiking, a climbing wall, a zip line, and fishing in the trout pond. Ask me about my fish story!
Attending from Geneva were Terry Cocking, Norm Coombs, Patrick Day, Don Geib, Dan Harvey, Bill Klimek, Garry Nelson, Howard Prol, Luke Reed, and Mark Reed. For more retreat stories and insights, you're invited to talk with any one of us.
In Christ, Terry
